Moorefield JV
(Gold Fields 80%, Clancy 20%)
Moorefield is located 30km NE of Condobolin. Basement geology consists of Cambro-Ordovician slate, phyllite and schist of the Girrilambone Group, with minor Devonian and Siluro-Devonian clastic sedimentary and volcanic rocks. The project is prospective for a number of mineralisation styles including epithermal gold and Tritton-style copper deposits.
The first RC hole was drilled by Gold Fields at the Boxdale prospect, intersected quartz veins that have semi massive and disseminated pyrite-arsenopyrite, with minor chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena. The hole returned the following significant intercepts: • 19m @ 1.28g/t Au from 114m ; including o 4m at 4.30g/t Au from 120m o 1m at 9.55g/t Au from 123m • 3m at 1.46g/t gold from 129m
Follow-up soil and rock chip sampling has been completed and further drilling is planned.
