Condobolin EL6939

Current Highlights

A 1787m RC drilling program was completed in February 2011 at the Phoenix, Mascotte, Bluebell and Potters prospects. The drilling program was designed to follow up on rock chip results, received during first pass exploration of prospects within the tenement in October 2010. Drilling intersected high-grade Au, Ag and base metal mineralisation at all four prospects tested, with multiple target zones remaining open at depth and along strike.

At the Phoenix prospect two gold-copper-silver-lead lodes have been intersected beneath historic workings, confirming that mineralisation extends at depth and is open down dip and along strike. An upper lode of >3g/t Au over a drilled width of 8m with a higher grade zone of ~10g/t Au was intersected by two RC holes with the following intercepts:
• 8m @ 3.7g/t Au, 7.1g/t Ag, 0.62% Pb from 59m; including
o 2m @ 9.8 g/t Au, 13.5 g/t Ag, 1.54% Pb from 64m
• 8m @ 3.73g/t Au, 17g/t Ag, 0.47% Cu from 72m; including
o 2m @ 10.35g/t Au, 10.75g/t Ag, 0.57% Pb, 0.64% Zn from 76m; and
• 2m @ 1.77g/t Au, 33g/t Ag, 0.98% Cu from 72m

A lower lode was also intersected at Phoenix with 2m @ 3.1g/t Au, 17.2g/t Ag, 0.85% Cu from 70m; including:
• 1m @ 4.08g/t Au, 30g/t Ag, 1.56% Cu from 70m
A silver-lead-zinc lode has been intersected at the Potters prospect within a broad Zn halo with 24m @ 0.9% Zn, 0.8% Pb, 8.9g/t Ag from 88m; including:
• 6m @ 2.7% Zn, 2.7% Pb, 30g/t Ag from 100m.
A broad, moderate-grade zinc-silver-lead-gold lode was intersected at the Mascotte prospect with 18m @ 1.1% Zn, 0.36g/t Au, 3.5g/t Ag, 0.19% Pb from 70m; including:
• 4m @ 3.7% Zn, 1.3g/t Au, 12g/t Ag, 0.64% Pb from 76m

At the Bluebell prospect, copper-gold-silver mineralisation was intersected distal to historic workings with 4m @ 0.29g/t Au, 1.14% Cu, 8.17g/t Ag from 98m. Drilling closer to these workings had to be abandoned due to rain, so the best section of the drill target has not been tested yet.

Project Description

The Condobolin project is located just north of the township of Condobolin, in central NSW. The geology is dominated by highly deformed metasediments (slates, phyllites and quartzose sandstones) of the Ordovician Girilambone Group. Geophysical interpretation of the area also indicates the potential for high-level post-Ordovician intrusives. Large, regional-scale faulting, possibly related to the Gilmore Suture Zone to the west, is also present throughout the Condobolin area.

Clancy is targeting two styles of mineralisation at Condobolin: narrow structurally-hosted high grade gold-base metals and epithermal gold-copper.

The Condobolin project area contains several historic workings, which were mined for gold, copper, silver, lead and zinc in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Mullock samples reveal crustiform banding and colloform textures in quartz veins with sulphides, which are ‘classic’ epithermal features. These occurrences cross the area in a general north-east oriented trend, indicating probable regional structural control on mineralisation. Twelve rock chip samples were collected from mullock around the historic workings in October 2010. Sulphide mineralisation is present in epithermal textured veins at all prospects. High-grade gold, copper and zinc results were returned with 7 of the 12 samples assaying >5g/t gold and 2 assaying >5% copper with a maximum values of 26g/t gold and 8.53% copper respectively. One sample assayed 25.3% zinc.

Records from the old mines have shown that many ceased production due to ingress of water to high levels before ore had run out. Therefore, there is potential at several prospects for depth and strike extension of the rich orebodies mined by the old timers.
