Mr Gordon Barnes
Managing Director & Exploration Manager

Gordon is an exploration geologist with a background in exploration project management and technical consulting services. He has 23 years of practical experience, ranging from active field based projects through to multi-commodity project generation initiatives in Australia, Asia, North and South America. He worked as an Exploration Geologist with Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc at the Karonie gold project in the Eastern Goldfields. Following Freeport's merger with the Normandy-Poseidon Group in 1989, he became a Project then Senior Geologist with Normandy Exploration, working on projects in the Murchison (Au), Southern Cross (Au, Ni), Eastern Goldfields (Au), Pilbara (Au, Cu) and Kimberley (Ni, Co, Zn) regions of Western Australia.

Gordon started consulting to the industry in 1996 and co-founded the Insight Geoscience Group the following year. Insight Geoscience participated in several client-sponsored project generative initiatives in Asia (Au, Cu), Australia (Zn, Cu, Pb) and North America (Zn). He has also worked on a variety of advanced database projects for multi-national clients.

Gordon joined Clancy's original parent company, Geoinformatics Exploration Inc., in April 2004 as Australasian Exploration Manager and transferred to Clancy as Exploration Manager in 2007 upon its IPO. Dr Jeff Vassallo
Senior Exploration Geologist

Jeff is an exploration geologist with nine years practical experience in studying and exploring the Lachlan Orogen in NSW. This work involved the assessment of the structural-tectonic settings of mineral deposits in the Lachlan Orogen and the nature of the deformation that affected them. This led to him becoming the Team Leader of regional mapping for the Geological Survey of NSW. He has been with Clancy Exploration Ltd exploring the Macquarie Arc for porphyry Cu-Au deposits since 2008.

Jeff graduated from Melbourne University with a PhD in Structural Geology in 2001 with a thesis on the dynamic evolution of the eastern Gawler Craton. This involved a thorough assessment of the structural-metamorphic and geochronological features of southern Eyre Peninsula, SA. During that time he also studied the late evolution of the Vestfold Hills in Eastern Antarctica. He has also graduated from Macquarie University in 1996 with first class honours on the origin of felsic gneisses in the Broken Hill Block, NSW. He is currently a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.

Kristy Bewert-Vassallo
Project Exploration Geologist

Kristy is an exploration geologist with seven years practical experience in studying and exploring the Lachlan Orogen in NSW. This work involved mapping and devising basement geology and structure as part of the Geological Survey of NSW, as well as exploration for porphyry Au-Cu for Newcrest Mining.

Kristy has also worked on a diverse range of porphyry Au-Cu, epithermal Au, granite-hosted Au and orogenic Au projects through her own business as a contract exploration geologist. In 2009, Kristy was contracting to Clancy Exploration Ltd as a geologist, and subsequently joined Clancy as Project Exploration Geologist to explore the Macquarie Arc for porphyry Cu-Au deposits in early 2010.

Kristy graduated from the University of Canberra with a BApp Sci (Earth and Land Science) in 2002, and in the following year graduated from the Australian National University with a BSc Hons, First Class. Her thesis focused on the regolith landforms in the Cadia Valley Mining Area, NSW as an approach to environmental management of mine contaminants. She is currently a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, the Geological Society of Australia and the Society of Economic Geologists.
