Clancy Exploration Limited


Background

Clancy was incorporated on 17 July 2003 as a private company wholly owned by Geoinformatics Exploration Inc. On 6 March 2007 it converted to a public company. Clancy was spun out of Geoinformatics and acquired the core Australian assets of the Geoinformatics group prior to listing on the ASX on 11 July 2007. Geoinformatics is a global exploration company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange Venture Exchange. Geoinformatics retains a significant shareholding in Clancy.

Objectives

Clancy was formed with the objective of pursuing copper-gold porphyry deposits in the Lachlan Fold Belt of New South Wales, Australia.  Clancy currently has one of the largest ground positions in the Lachlan Fold Belt which has been built up over some five or so years and is systematically exploring these in conjunction with Gold Fields Limited to test as many A class targets as possible. Exploration on four of the projects are being funded through  joint ventures with Gold Fields. Clancy also has a strategic alliance with Bass Metals relating to a portfolio of Tasmanian tenements which are being funded and managed by Bass Metals.
